92 points Wine Spectator: "Shows intensity and vibrancy, offering a complex mix of mineraland citrus-laced green apple flavors, with subtle touches of toasty oak. Ends with a full-bodied aftertaste that should be better after a year. Drink now. (4/15/15)"

92 points and 'Very highly recommended,' California Grapevine: "Medium-light golden yellow; attractive, intense, nectarine and baked apple aroma with tropical notes and hints of hazelnut, mocha, and honeysuckle; medium-full body; rich, firmly structured, nutty, apple and stone fruit flavors with bright acidity, a hint of orange zest, and well integrated fruit and oak; lingering aftertaste. Very enjoyable to drink now, though will continue to develop with several more years of bottle aging. 14.8% alcohol;; 95% barrel fermented; 100% malolactic fermentation; released March 2015. (Apr 2015)"

92 points Connoisseurs' Guide: "Here is a Chardonnay that goes right to the fruity point even as it makes no apologies for ripeness and a full dose of sweet, lightly toasty oak. It is full and slightly supple with fine proportion and balance throughout and is marked by a sense of sophistication uncommon in wines of its richness and size. It is at once bold but well-measured and stays structured even as a touch of late-arriving heat peeks through at the finish, and, if an eminently satisfying companion to richer seafood and fowl in its youth, it promises to be better yet after a wait of some two to four years. (Jul 2015)"

Producer notes: "Our One Sixteen Chardonnay is named after the Gravenstein Highway 116 which cuts through the town of Sebastopol, where this wine embodies the true character of the Green Valley sub-appellation. Aromatics: This wine expresses beautiful aromas layered in Granny Smith apple, tangerine, orange blossom, and honeysuckle. On the palate: Our One Sixteen Chardonnay exhibits a crisp key lime and Meyer lemon zest. The flavors are succulent, fresh and lively on the palate, with a supple vanillin meringue texture. The finish gradually turns crisp with a final wash of mouthwatering natural acidity. 95% barrel fermented and aged (228-Liter barrel), 5% concrete fermented. Barrel aged 15 months in 39% new French oak. Alcohol 14.8%."
