98 points La Revue du Vin de France: "A breathtaking, pure, earthy nose in the Echézeaux, whose extra flesh serves a very energetic, full-bodied, long-lasting palate: a masterful, serene, harmonious wine. (2020)"

97 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Cécile Tremblay’s 2017 Echézeaux is an utterly brilliant wine in the making and one of the best of the entire vintage! The stunning nose soars from the glass in a blaze of plums, red and black raspberries, duck, bonfire, raw cocoa, a complex base of minerality, fresh nutmeg, a sweet touch of the stems and a refined coating of smoky new oak. On the palate the wine is full-bdoied, sappy and beautifully balanced, with great focus and grip, enormous complexity, ripe, fine-grained tannins and a very, very long, vibrant and soil-driven finish. Great, great Echézeaux! 2028-2085. (Nov/Dec 2018)"

94-96 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2017 Echézeaux du Dessus Grand Cru has a luxurious bouquet of copious red cherry, crushed strawberry, orange zest and tangerine. The palate is medium-bodied with sumptuous red fruit, the richness offset by a fine bead of acidity. A little exotic but not ostentatious, revealing a tang of white pepper toward the persistent finish. Superb. Drink: 2021-2039. (Jan 2019)"

93-96 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "No deeper in colour but quite elegant. The nose starts quietly but the fruit explodes on the palate and here the oak is well judged adding its own sweetness to that of the grapes. Little bits of red fruit, detailed and with a very good freshness. Excellent length here, and this should evolve into something ethereal. Tasted: November 2018. (Nov 2018)"

95 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Tremblay's 2017 Echézeaux du Dessus Grand Cru is showing very well from bottle, unwinding from the glass with aromas of raspberries, cassis, spices, smoked meats, rich soil tones and bergamot. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, velvety and fleshy, with a textural attack, ripe acids and melting tannins. Long and perfumed, this is a gourmand, succulent Echézeaux that will offer a broad drinking window. Drink: 2025-2045. (1/9/20)"

92-95 points/'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "Here the wood treatment is a bit more evident though it's not intrusive as the overtly floral and ultra-spicy aromas attest. The sleek and well-detailed flavors possess a highly attractive mouthfeel if only average density while offering outstanding complexity and persistence on the markedly saline and very firm finish. This youthfully austere effort is clearly going to require extended keeping if you wish to see it at its peak. In a word, excellent. Drink: 2032+. (Jan 2019)"

94 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "Cécile Tremblay sources her grand cru from a 0.2ha parcel in Échézeaux du Dessus. It's a bright, rose-petal-scented style that was charming to drink straight out of the barrel. Pepper, clove and baking spice notes combine appealingly with sweet and savoury fruit flavours and an intensity that builds on the palate. Drinking Window: 2021-2028. (11/5/18)"
