90 points Stephen Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "Dark ruby in color, the 2020 Blaufränkisch Burgenland offers a clear, bright, fresh and spicy nose with characteristic terroir, tea and mustard aromas intermingled with refined fruit aromas reminiscent of dark cherries, berries and a hint of tar. On the palate, this is a more generous, lush and balanced, very elegant and charming Blaufränkisch compared with the 2021 successor. Silky, fresh and elegant, this is a seriously structured red provided with concentrated fruit, fine tannins and lively mineral/saline acidity. The finish is pure, fresh and saline, almost crystalline in its finessed bite and delicacy, developing stunning fruit intensity. It's not super complex but pairs purity and freshness with intensity and ripe black berries and red cherries. It's an excellent, medium-weight Blaufränkisch. 12.5% stated alcohol. Tasted blind in Lech/Austria, in December 2022 and again at home in April 2023. Drink 2023-2031 (Jul 2023)."

Producer notes: "2020 was another great vintage. The result is a bright, blue-fruited Blaufrankisch that delivers juicy wines with bright fruit and good ripeness. Organic and biological vineyard practices. Fermented spontaneously with native yeast in open-top vats. No new wood. Aging occurs in 500 Liter Stockinger barrels and is bottled in summer. A wine that is all about fruit and earth, with dark, textural tannins that will age well for at least another five or six years in the cellar or can be drunk now."
