97 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "The best wine in the Raveneau line up in 2018, as it often is, comes from their four parcels of the Grand Cru, all of which are picked together and located in the middle of the slope. Leesy, waxy and effortlessly complex, this has notes of green herbs and white flowers, lots of understated power, incredible minerality and palate length, and a savoury, umami undertone. I scored both the Blanchot and Valmur Grands Crus 95 points. Drinking Window: 2022-2035. (7/10/19)"
95-97 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "A Chablis of eternal beauty, the 2018 Les Clos Grand Cru possesses extraordinary aromatic intensity and soft, silky contours that are so wonderfully inviting. As always, Clos is a wine of textural beauty matched to a sense of elusiveness that makes it hard to describe. From barrel, the 2018 is mesmerizing and haunting in its profoundness. I can't wait to taste it from bottle. (Jan 2020)"
96 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .54 ha parcel). Once again, the nose is markedly cool and reserved with its prominently floral and citrus-suffused aromas of wet stone, shellfish and pungent iodine wisps. The sleek, sophisticated and focused larger-scaled flavors brim with minerality and a reasonable amount of dry extract while the driving, chiseled and linear finish is strikingly long. Interestingly, this doesn't possess the same density as either the Blanchot or the Valmur but it is already more complex and so compact that it's clear this is going to require extended cellaring to arrive at its apogee. Drink: 2030+. (Nov 2020)"
96 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "While the Blanchot are the oldest vines that the Raveneau family has planted in their vineyards, those in Les Clos are also quite venerable. There were three plantations here in their parcel: 1963, 1976 and 1989, so even the youngest are now thirty years of age and there are plenty of very old vines as well. The wine has turned out beautifully in 2018, mirroring the greater purity of the Blanchot, rather than the slightly riper fruit tones of the Valmur this year. The bouquet is a fine blend of pear, apple, flinty minerality, anise, citrus peel and just a bit of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and again, rock solid at the core, with great focus and grip, snappy acids and laser-like focus on the very, very long and very pure finish. The Clos chez Raveneau can often be the most adolescently grumpy wine out of the blocks here, but the 2018 is already supremely elegant in personality. Great juice. 2028-2075. (Nov/Dec 2019)"
95 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2018 Chablis Grand Cru Clos is superb, unwinding in the glass to reveal notions of citrus oil, white flowers and smoke mingled with hints of crisp stone fruit, pear and fresh bread. Full-bodied, layered and muscular, it's deep and nicely concentrated even in this abundant vintage, with lively acids and a long, saline finish. Drink: 2027-2055. (8/5/21)"
