The lightly creamy mid-palate shows good weight while the sassy acidity keeps the wine focused and refreshing. 93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2020 Vaillons from the Raveneau family is equally young and built for the long haul, but it is very precise and shows a bit less reserve today than is the case with the Forêt. The bouquet is bright and nascently complex, delivering scents of apple, pear, beeswax, wet stone minerality, citrus peel and a lovely floral topnote of white flowers and citrus blossoms. On the palate the wine is pure, focused and full, with a lovely core of perfectly ripe, crunchy fruit, fine soil signature, zesty acids and a long, complex and marvelously balanced finish. A discreet application of wood sets off ever-so-mildly exotic aromas of passion fruit, lemon-lime, white peach and quinine. The equally delicious medium-bodied flavors are more refined if not as concentrated while exhibiting strikingly good length on the saline and palate staining finish. This is also very promising.
