90-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "Strong reduction presently flattens the fruit. By contrast there is excellent vibrancy to the intense big-bodied flavors that also display plenty of mid-palate concentration where the dry extract helps to offset the very firm tannic spine on the mildly austere and lingering finish. This has plenty of Nuits style muscle but almost no rusticity. Drink: 2020+. (Jan 2014)"

92 points (16/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "In the Premier Cru series, La Richemone classique stands out for its depth and slightly prominent structure, accompanied by limpid fruit. (2015)"

90-92 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2012 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Richemoines comes from 60-year old vines located in a single 1.05-hectare parcel. The mineralite shows through very well on this wine: red cherries, bergamot, granite and just a suggestion of burnt toast that emerges with aeration. The palate is vibrant from the beginning with rounded, sappy red berry fruit intermingling with cassis and a dash of white pepper. This is very harmonious, just perhaps needs a little more structure towards the finish. (Dec 2013)"

91 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Full medium red. Complex aromas of redcurrant, plum, chocolate and brown spices struck me as a bit Bordeaux-like. Sweet, supple and rich if a bit clenched on the back end. This big boy finishes with dusty tannins and a meaty nuance. Drink: 2021-2030.
