94 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Damodes has a very fragrant, intoxicating nose thanks to its unbridled purity and delineation. Here is pure pinoté in all its unfettered glory. The palate is very well balanced, perhaps "classic" in style thanks to a touch of leafiness, although there is plenty of substance on the finish with the red fruit interlaced with Earl Grey tea and bay leaf. Lovely wine, just lovely - this surpasses the bottle I tasted a few months ago. Drink: 2016-2035. (Oct 2015)"

93 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$138 list] Floral, berry and spice aromas and flavors signal this elegant, racy red. Tightens up with bound tannins, but the sweet fruit persists on the lingering aftertaste. Best from 2018 through 2033. 10 cases imported. (6/15/15)"

93 points (16.5/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "Damodes premier cru, which is smaller in size, offers thicker, velvety flesh. (2015)"

91 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "This is clearly riper with a much darker fruit profile to the plum, spice earth and game inflected nose. I like the velvety mouth feel to the extract-rich medium-bodied flavors that possess fine length on the seductively textured finale that displays very fine complexity. This is lovely and while it should drink well early I would be inclined to give it at least 5 years of bottle age first. Drink: 2022+. (Jan 2015)"

91 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Good dark red. Aromas of black cherry and truffley underbrush. Densely packed but rather powerful, showing an almost liqueur-like ripeness to its flavors of red and darker fruits, minerals and licorice. Very bright and energetic but also noticeably oaky in the early going. Finishes with building, wood-influenced tannins and excellent length. In a somewhat tougher style than the more harmonious 2013 version, and in need of patience. Drink: 2022-2030. (Mar 2015)"
