94 points Decanter: "This small parcel at the northern end of Chambolle, just under Bonnes Mares, is planted in rows oriented from north to south. Approximately one quarter of the old vine fruit is fermented as whole clusters, the ageing is done without new casks. There is a pleasant touch of wild herbs to the bright red and black fruits, plus a lovely texture on a palate that is silky, dense and long. This should open up nicely with age. Drinking window 2024-2039 (Oct 2020)

(92-94) points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes 1er Cru has a lovely menthol-tinged bouquet, redcurrant and cranberry, light tertiary notes developing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, white pepper and cumin. Lovely balance here, the new oak is well integrated. Just a pity, only two barrels were produced. Drink 2023-2044 (Dec 2020)"

(92-94) points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Aromas of cherries, sweet wild berries, cinnamon and forest floor introduce the 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes, a medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated wine that's deep and complete, with powdery tannins and lively acids. Situated below Bonnes-Mares, Lignier observes that this parcel is planted north-south and moreover gently inclined to the north, both of which, he thinks, are advantageous attributes in warmer, sunnier years. (Jan 2021)"

(91-94) points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Chambolle of the north, with Morey style virility. The rows are planted north-south, which several producers have mentioned is useful in these hot seasons, as neither side of the row sees full sunlight throughout the day. Light reduction, a wealth of darker fruit, sterner stuff here. Fair finish. The very slight northern slope keeps it fresh. Tasted: November 2020."
