94 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "This lush, exotic Meursault has aromas typical of the appellation, scented with ripe apple, white blossoms, a touch of hazelnut, and just a faintly buttery note from the large, older casks used for aging. The wine overall is lovely in its restraint and elegance. The high-elevation site near Blagny gives enough acidity to the wine to carry this to a convincingly long finish. Drinking Window: 2023-2035. (Jan 2021)"

92 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Pale lemon and lime. There’s an elegance to the nose here and a certain suggestion of tension. Quite floral too, then a burst of real strength and energy on the palate with a clean chiselled finish, a little wood, and enough flesh to round this out nicely. Excellent finish! (Dec 2019)"

92 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "This is well-marked by new oak, yet with plenty of peach, pear and lemon flavors underneath. Combined with the vibrant structure and almost creamy texture, this is harmonious, complex and long. Drink now through 2027. 620 cases made, 21 cases imported. (9/30/21)"

91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2018 Meursault Le Pièce Sous Bois 1er Cru, situated up in the higher contours in Blagny, has a well-defined bouquet, a little more austere than Leroux’s other Meursaults, cooler and more aloof. The vibrant palate is beautifully balanced with crisp acidity, the 10% new oak lending a little weight on the midpalate, and delivers green apple, yellow plum and a touch of spice on the elegant finish. Excellent. Drink: 2021-2034. (Jan 2020)"
