91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2021 Meursault-Blagny La Pièce Sous Le Bois 1er Cru has a cool, reserved nose at first that is quite Puligny-like, with fine mineralité and definition. Scents of grapefruit and pear emerge with time. The palate is well-balanced with a silver thread of acidity. It's more linear and edgy than the Vireuils, with a little more persistence on the finish. Delicious. Drink: 2024-2036. (Jan 2023)"

92 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "Crisp, lively, and refreshing, this wine opens with bright citrus and flinty notes and opens a bit with green apple and hints of cream. The texture is lively but there is enough substance to ensure that it doesn’t feel sharp. Leroux farms 2.85 hectares here, and luckily it gave two-thirds of a normal crop this year, twenty barrels in total. An admirable effort from someone who is a bit of a Blagny specialist. Drinking Window: 2023-2035. (Jun 2022)"

90-92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A tiny crop, just 6 barrels from 1.62ha. I saw Benjamin in this vineyard in the very early hours of Wednesday 7th April, with a light covering of snow in the vineyard and freezing temperatures. He had set candles to work, but with little effect. What little wine could be made is good though. Pale green tints to the colour. Quite elegant but a wine on a small scale. More intensity than I expected on the palate, a lightly buttery note from the oak behind, and good length. Drink from 2026-2030. (Oct 2022)"
