90-92 points Jasper Morris, MW: "A mix of domaine and purchased grapes. 35% whole bunch. Usual rich mid purple, with not too much nose. Bulkier than the 1er cru, certainly ripe but still in balance, some plums in the fruit bowl here, fair length. Tasted: November 2019."
90-92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Gruenchers 1er Cru is two-thirds purchased fruit and one-third from the domaine. Attractive rose petal and ground chalk scents percolate through the red berry fruit on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins on the entry. Lively and energetic, with impressive energy on the finish, which feels slightly confit in style, and a dab of licorice on the aftertaste. Good length and good potential here. Drink: 2022-2040. (Jan 2020)"
90-92 points and 'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(<40% whole clusters). This is aromatically quite similar to the Chambolle "1er" but with a bit more floral influence. By contrast there is better volume, richness and mid-palate density while preserving the same attractive texture that also suffuses the bitter cherry pit-inflected and finish that is presently slightly austere This is a relatively powerful wine where it is not hard to discern its proximity to Bonnes Mares. Drink: 2026+. (Jan 2020)"
