94-96 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is also full of promise, mingling aromas of cherries and licorice with hints of loamy soil, peonies and espresso roast. Full-bodied, deep and enveloping, with velvety tannins and a lively spine of acidity, it's especially bright and dynamic, concluding with a long, mouthwatering finish. It was vinified with 60% whole bunches and raised in two-thirds new oak. (Jan 2021)"
92-95 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(a blend of one-third Mazoyères and two-thirds Charmes proper - the fruit comes from a mix of mostly 20+ year-old vines and a small percentage of extremely old vines; 60% stems). Like the Champeaux, the nose is brooding and backward though pretty with its array of earth, liqueur-like dark berries and lovely spice wisps. There is again outstanding volume to the beautifully textured large-scaled flavors that exude a bracing salinity on the sneaky long and well-balanced finale. Here too plenty of patience will be required. Drink: 2039+. (Jan 2021)"
