91-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Picked early, on August 29th. Pale colour with a clear fresh chiselled nose. After a while some refined citrus notes start to appear and a little touch of oak. Lean but with adequate flesh, all in white fruit, on the stones, and with excellent persistence. (Nov 2019)"

93 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "The secret ingredient in this impressive village Gevrey-Chambertin is the inclusion of 25% Premier Cru grapes, which add a little more texture and concentration to the blend. With adroitly handled 20% whole bunches and new wood, it's spicy, sweet and textured with sappy acidity and notes of summer pudding and aromatic kitchen spices. Drinking Window: 2021-2026. (10/20/19)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(25-30% 1er in here, each year). A tighter nose. Lovely width. Fine grained texture. Good wine. (1/29/20)"

Producer notes: "Gevrey-Chambertin is a wine with a beautiful, bright ruby colour. Intensely fruity on the nose, the aromas are reminiscent of black cherry, wild blackberry and liquorice. The woody character is subtle and marries delicately with the other aromas. As the wine evolves, there are more complex notes, such as mild spice, nutmeg and leather. Later still, mushroom and damp earth nuances make their appearance. Although present on the palate, tannin is never astringent but blends itself harmoniously with the natural freshness and "gras" (velvety texture) of the wine. The same aromas encountered earlier on the nose are found again in the aftertaste."
