97 points Tim Atkin, MW: "Two parcels sitting next to one another on the northern side and up the slope go into this wine. One is the domaine's and the other is purchased. They total a mere 0.13 hectares. Still, the Drouhins only began combining the cuvées about ten years ago. This is a gorgeous Clos de Bèze with intense blackberry and black plum fruit, smoky minerality and salted chocolate. Finely toned and muscular – like a ballet dancer, not a rugby player, this has sculpted tannins and lively acidity. The last notes feel like taffeta on the palate. 2025-42. (2022)"

95-97 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru has a wonderful, well-defined bouquet with crushed rock and sous-bois percolating through the red berry fruit. The palate is very well balanced with sappy red fruit, white pepper, clove and light saline notes. Gentle grip on the finish but long and tender. This is a very classy Clos de Bèze. Superb. Drink: 2025-2055. (Dec 2021)"

96 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2020 Chambertin “Clos de Bèze” from Maison Joseph Drouhin is another stellar example of the vintage. The superb nose offers up scents of cassis, black raspberries, mustard seed, a complex base of black minerality, grilled meats, coffee bean, woodsmoke and cedary oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, complex and beautifully soil-driven in personality, with a superb core of black fruit, fine-grained tannins and lovely focus and balance on the very long, complex finish. Superb juice. 2037-2100. (Nov/Dec 2021)"

94-96 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru bursts from the glass with rich aromas of cherries, cassis, rich spices, loamy soil, rose petals and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, ample and velvety, it's fleshy and multidimensional, with lively acids, notable depth at the core and a long, resonant finish. (Jan 2022)"

93-96 points Jasper Morris, MW: "This wine combines the usual mix of domaine and purchased fruit, but now Drouhin can choose the picking date of the latter, which makes a difference. 40% whole bunch vinification. Pretty dense deep and plummy, It’s a bit sturdy at the moment. Less so at the finish which opens out really well. Long soft and sweetly ripe finish, a mix of red and black, cherry and raspberry. (Nov 2021)"

93-96 points/'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "Mildly toasty aromas are comprised by notes of a beautiful array of spice elements, poached plum, cassis and floral hints that include rose petal and violet. There is a lovely sleekness to the intense, delicious and strikingly textured big-bodied flavors that are caressing yet powerful and muscular on the saline-inflected, very firm and gorgeously persistent finale. This is very classy and a wine that should easily repay 12 to 15 years of cellar time. Drink: 2032+. (Apr 2022)"
