96 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "As with neighbouring Gouttes d'Or, the Clos de Bouchères - a 1.37ha monopole acquired in 2011 - is a precocious, early-ripening site, picked earlier in 2020 than its neighbours, with more potential alcohol (13.65%) and less acidity. Despite the richness, there is a lively character here that makes the wine perhaps more dynamic than its neighbour, even if it doesn't quite reach the depth of Perrières. Roulot vinifies with moderate use of new wood - and his habitual winemaking savvy - to yield an unforgettable wine of charm and distinction. Drinking Window: 2022-2035. (Nov 2021)"

94-96 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2020 Meursault Clos des Bouchères 1er Cru is positively stunning. The aromatics along are so inviting. Gracious and deceptively light in body, the 2020 has so much to offer. White pepper, crushed rocks, grapefruit, mint and salt lend brightness to this mesmerizing, high-toned Meursault. The Bouchères is one of the highlights in this range from Jean-Marc Roulot. Drink: 2022-2030. (Dec 2021)"

94-96 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Picked on 21st August, 13.65% alcohol, 4.00TA and 3.28pH. Pale lemon yellow, the nose is interestingly complex, less reductive, with more soft fruit, a lovely lemon and grapefruit zest to it. Otherwise there is more classic white fruit, great energy and length. Really attractive, complex balanced wine with great length. (Oct 2021)"

95 points/'Outstanding,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The Clos des Boucheres is elegant and intense, yet airy and with an easy effortlessness. This is so refined and delicate, that while it’s not an extremely intense wine, it still has it all. A hedonistic marvel. Drink from 2037. (5/18/22)"

95 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "This is Jean-Marc's tenth vintage making this wine and tasting it always sends tingles up my spine. There is 1 hectare 37 in the Clos, and they're reaching 40 years in age. This is a supremely fresh wine with a fine stream of acidity balancing its spunky, youthful fruit. Yellow apple core, pomelo, fennel and freshly-whipped cream give the palate panache. The structure dazzles with its precision that carries the wine into a long flinty finish. 2023-34. (2022)"

93-95 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Clos des Bouchères is excellent, exhibiting aromas of citrus oil and pear mingled with notes of fresh bread, dried white flowers and iodine. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, it's ample but precise, with a satiny attack that segues into a vibrant mid-palate, concluding with a long, saline finish. If Les Charmes is denser and blockier, the Clos des Bouchères is finer-boned and more ethereal. (Jan 2022)"

94 points/'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 1.37 ha parcel). Once again, the nose is quite cool and restrained with its array of pretty and elegant acacia blossom, lilac, exotic jasmine tea and lemon-lime hints. The elegance continues on the exquisitely refined medium weight flavors that possess really lovely detail that carries over to the lightly stony, very dry and sneaky long finale. As is almost always the case, this is an understated wine of class and grace that should be approachable young but offer up to a decade's worth of potential improvement. Drink: 2028+. (Jun 2022)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "This 1.3-hectare clos is a monopole of the domaine – 2011 was the first vintage, before that they had ‘simply’ Bouchères. Today, one-third of the vines are 25-30-years-old, the rest are over 45. The first vineyard to be harvested yet always with the highest degrees – 13.5° in 2020. A wide and interesting nose – perhaps a little more airy with yellow-citrus complexity. Here a prickle of gas – a touch of tannin too. The finish like the rest of the wine just a little discrete – fine but I’d like to see a little more after the great last wines. (12/23/21)"
