95 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "Old vines planted in the 1940s supply the fruit for this single parcel Premier Cru on richer, clay-based soils. Showing a hint of appealing bitterness, which adds some grip and texture to the palate, this is rich yet focused, with well-handled oak, citrus and wet stone flavours, a savoury undertone and refreshing, citrus-edged acidity. (Drink between 2021-2030. (Oct 2019)"

93-95 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Ancient vines from 1942. Pale yellow colour. The nose has an admirably fresh quality, the power builds behind, a light trace of lime, pretty weighty, maybe more character in Porusot, but this does not stop building in its quiet way. (Nov 2019)"

94 points/'Don't miss!/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 1.4 ha parcel of 70+ year old vines in Charmes Dessous). A softly exotic nose more willingly offers up notes of jasmine tea, apple, pear and white peach along with discreet floral and orange peel wisps. There is exceptionally good richness to the super-sleek and seductively textured flavors that culminate in a compact, chiseled and refreshingly clean and dry finish where a hint of citrus rind emerges. This bone-dry mineral-driven effort is quite simply terrific and worth a special effort to find. Drink: 2030+. (Jun 2020)"

92-94 points/'Very Fine,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The Charmes is carrying the generosity and weight of the 2018 vintage with both grace and ease. A large-scaled, velvety Meursault, it expresses the generous side of the 2018 vintage with both elegance and liveliness. I do like the zen-like ease of this wine and, although not reaching the levels of the sinfully sensual Boucheres, it has its fine moments. Drink from 2033. (3/11/20)"

93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes is very pretty, mingling notions of pear and baking spices with hints of honeycomb, peach and citrus oil. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and charming, it's elegantly textural, with an ample core of succulent fruit, bright acids and a mouthwatering finish. Drink: 2024-2050. (1/14/21)"
