95 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Vaillons seems softer at first, but on the palate, it's a wine that's hard to resist, despite its volume and fleshy fruit. It has depth and length on the palate. (2024)"

94 points Bettane & Desseauve Guide (2024).

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2021 Vaillons is a touch more reserved in personality today than the beautifully expressive Séchet. With a little coaxing, it shows lovely potential on both the nose and palate, with the bouquet offering up scents of lemon, apple, orange zest, a complex base of limestone minerality and just a whisper of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and youthful, with a lovely core, excellent backend mineral drive and grip, bouncy acids and a long, balanced and very promising finish. 2026-2055. (Nov/Dec 2022)"

93 points Andy Howard, MW (Decanter): "Showing a warmer, fleshier and generous character, this Vaillons has plenty of acidity, floral characters and elegance with a long, fine, finish. Sappy and mineral, a finely textured premier cru which doesn't have quite the interest of Les Forêts or Séchet but is still very fine. Drinking Window: 2024-2028. (Oct 2022)"

91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2021 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru was severely affected by the frost this year, so there are just seven barrels and five feuillettes this year. It has a beautifully defined bouquet with fine focus and energy, honeysuckle and light crushed stone aromas. The palate is very intense with a killer line of acidity, taut and fresh with a twist of sour lemon on the finish. Excellent. Drink: 2024-2038. (Sep 2022)"

92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from one-third Beugnons and two-thirds Châtains). Here too a vague suggestion of exotic fruit lurks in the background of the ripe and ultra-fresh aromas of citrus confit, petrol, iodine and just sliced pear. There is a bit more volume and richness to the delicious and acceptably dense medium-weight flavors that conclude in a youthfully austere, chiseled and impressively long finish. This well-balanced effort should develop well over the next 8 to 12 years. Drink: 2031+. (8/10/23)"
