95 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Montee de Tonnerre 2021 smells of pebbles and flint. If the attack is comfortable, it quickly gives off an almost tannic sensation and a mineral breath that it draws from its marl soil and its exposure to the setting sun. (2024)"

93-95 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2021 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru suffered around 40% loss from frost, though that figure is half of Vaillons. It has a very focused bouquet with citrus fruit, struck flint and light floral scents, opening nicely in the glass. The palate is vibrant on the entry, full of vim and vigour, gaining weight towards a very cohesive and persistent finish. Superb. Drink: 2024-2040. (Sep 2022)"

94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Though the Montée de Tonnerre was still in tank awaiting bottling, it had only been racked into cuve only the day before my visit, so it was still a bit agitated at having its repose in barrel interrupted in preparation for bottling in the spring. However, with a minute or two in the glass, it snapped everything into place and offered up a lovely nose of lemon, pink grapefruit, pear, a complex base of chalky minerality, white flowers and a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, bright and complex, with a fine core, lovely transparency and bounce, good mineral drive and a long, seamlessly balanced finish. This will be stellar. 2026-2060. (Nov/Dec 2022)"

94 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .30 ha parcel in Côte de Bréchain). Once again there is a whiff of the exotic on the lychee nut-inflected aromas of white peach, acacia blossom, oyster shell and lemongrass. The wonderfully sleek and refined medium-bodied flavors brim with both minerality and dry extract on the stony, moderately austere and sneaky long finale. I really like the gorgeous mouthfeel and this ageworthy effort is a stunner of a MdT. Drink: 2033+. (Aug 2023)"

94 points Andy Howard, MW (Decanter): "A very fine Montée de Tonnerre with power and concentration all wrapped up in a package which shows how classy the Dauvissat range is in 2021. Ripe stone fruit on the palate, precise acidity and some stony, smoky notes on the finish. Try and keep this for a decade if you can. Drinking Window: 2024-2030. (Oct 2022)"

90-93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Fresh glowing pale lemon. Lean and leafy on the nose with only a trace of peachiness. More like fresh apricot in the aftertaste. This has retained tension very nicely. Drink from 2025-2030. (Jun 2022)"
