92+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Both the Îles de Vergelesses Blanc and the Corton Blanc are now having part of their cuvée raised in one thousand liter, Stockinger foudres, which Claude de Nicolay likes very much for both of these wines. The wine has turned out beautifully in 2018, offering up a very pure and precise bouquet of pear, lemon zest, a hint of beeswax, a superb base of soil and a topnote of citrus blossoms. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, focused and complex, with a succulent core, fine soil signature and grip, quite nice acids and a long, wide open and totally captivating finish. This has the balance to age quite nicely, but it is going to be tough work not drinking it in the first blush of youth this year! 2020-2040. (Nov/Dec 2019)"

92 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$112 list] Lemon oil, apple, wild herbs, clove and lanolin aromas and flavors highlight this sleek white. It's intense, with a long, lemon- and spice-tinged aftertaste. Drink now through 2025. 469 cases made, 25 cases imported. (6/24/21)"

90-92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "An interesting and cool nose is comprised by notes of grapefruit, lemongrass and a whiff of the exotic that includes white peach. There is again excellent intensity and underlying tension suffusing the even more delineated flavors that exude an almost pungent minerality on the notably dry and youthfully austere finish that proffers markedly better depth. Drink: 2023+. (Jun 2020)"

90-92 points Fine Wine Review: "Rounder, juicier than the Savigny, very good acidity and freshness, plenty of minerality. 20% new oak. New vines. 12.6º, 3.20 pH at picking. (1/4/20)"

91 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2018 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile de Vergelesses Blanc has picked up considerable additional tension since I tasted it from barrel. Exhibiting notes of pear, waxy citrus rind, white flowers and fresh pastry, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, energetic and saline. Drink: 2020-2035. (1/14/21)"

90 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2018 Pernand-Vergelesses Ile de Vergelesses 1er Cru Blanc has a taut, fresh, quite mineral-driven bouquet that delivers scents of chalk and lemon zest with aplomb. The palate is very well balanced with a fine thread of acidity, and what it lacks in length, it compensates with energy. Drink: 2022-2028. (Dec 2020)"
