94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2018 Îles de Vergelesses is outstanding from the domaine, with the great soil signature of this vineyard tied to pure, sappy and perfectly ripe fruit in this vintage. The bouquet is deep and pure, offering up scents of red and black cherries, red currants, gamebird, a complex base of stony soil tones, a touch of iron and a lovely potpourri of spices in the upper register (this is much spicier out of the blocks than the les Vergelesses). On the palate the wine is deep, pure and full-bodied, with plenty of sappy red fruit waiting in the core, excellent transparency and grip, ripe, fine-grained tannins and a very long, focused and complex finish. This is going to be a brilliant example of this underrated terroir. 2030-2075. (Nov/Dec 2019)"
