92-94 points Anne Krebiehl, MW (Falstaff): "A touch of reduction initially clouds the beautiful pepperiness of the red-fruited nose. The palate immediately shows poise and elegance, a kind of cool, serene but ripe red fruit, this sails on a very even keel, smooth, with only the slightest crunch from very fine tannins, more of that pepperiness shimmers deliciously on the finish. (3/24/21)"

92 points James Suckling: "An excellent introduction to the red wines of Beaune, this has full red-fruit and earthy character with hints of spicy oak and licorice. A crowd-pleasing balance of generosity and moderately dry tannins on the palate with good length. Should age well. Drink or hold. (7/21/21)"

90-92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Made from the usual 17 different 1ers crus. Dense purple. A very substantial slightly mulberry nose, softly oaked to add a touch of generosity, then a more mineral structure behind, with very good intensity. Mouthfilling raspberry and some blackberry, good length and not too much heat. (Nov 2020)"

89-92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(the first vintage for this wine was in 1907 and the heart of it is composed by Les Aigrots though there are as many as 16 other 1ers included, that comprise a whopping 26 ha, depending on the vintage; in 2019 there were a total of 17 1ers). This is decidedly riper with its aromas of poached plum, mocha, black cherry liqueur and anise. The delicious middle weight flavors possess very good energy and richness while exhibiting fine length on the dusty bitter cherry pit-inflected finale. This mouthcoating effort should be approachable young but age well too over the mid-term. Drink: 2027+. (Apr 2021)"

91 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "A blend of 17 Beaune Premier Crus which has been exclusively produced at Bouchard since 1907. Bouchard owns 26ha, largely on pebbly/marly limestone. 12-14 months in oak with 25-35% new. Fred Weber stressed how healthy the grapes were in 2019. Vibrant redcurrant/raspberry fruit, an abundance of elegance here despite fruit ripeness and alcohol weighing in at 14.5%. Concentrated, supple and fine tannins, restrained, almost unnoticeable, oak. Weber likens the 2019 vintage to 1949. Drinking Window: 2023-2027. (11/10/22)"

91 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$60/750ml list] This red offers a mix of fruit and savory elements, with cherry and plum flavors mingling with earth, sandalwood and vegetal notes. Broad, with a well-integrated structure, fresh acidity and a mineral essence lingering on the aftertaste. Best from 2026 through 2042. (2023)"
