90-92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .66 ha parcel). Once again, the hallmark elegance of a fine Chambolle is displayed with its spicy essence of red pinot fruit and discreet floral nuances. There is slightly better volume to the succulent, nicely rich and attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that conclude in a bitter pit fruit-suffused finish. This could use better depth but it's already exceptionally pretty, just not deep, at least not yet. Drink: 2028+. (Jan 2023)"

Thanks to John Gilman's diligent research, we know that not all Charmes are created equal: "[Bertheau's] vines are situated on the more northerly half of this fairly large premier cru, which to my mind is the sweet spot of the vineyard...It ages beautifully and is one of the best wines in the Bertheau cellars, year in and year out and probably the very best value to be found amongst François Bertheau’s lineup...[At] maturity it shares with [Amoureuses] a silky, velvety palate impression, beautiful notes of cherries and Chambolle’s inimitable beetroot character, lovely spice and floral tones and a beautiful base of limestone soil...a great bottle of Chambolle!"
