95+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The youthful bouquet is already showing the great complexity to come, offering up scents of pink grapefruit, a hint of blood orange, wild yeasts, a glorious bath of salty, slate minerality, lemongrass and plenty of Rausch smokiness in the upper register. No doubt, the marvelous vein of botanicals that this terroir often shows with a bit of bottle age are also lurking here on the nose. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and very refined in its structural chassis, with a very impressive core, ripe, seamless acids and simply outstanding length and grip on the electric and perfectly balanced finish. 2028-2075. (Mar/Apr 2019)"

94 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "The 2018 Rausch GG is very pure, crystalline and flinty on the intense, fragrant, stony and lemony nose. Refined and elegant on the palate, this is a lush, very intense, lingering and complex Riesling from Saarburg that develops an enormously powerful and intense finish yet keeps its mineral freshness and lightness. A stunning dry Riesling and the finest of the GG trio here. Tasted in June 2019. Release date: September 2019. Drink: 2025-2040. (Aug 2019)"

93 points David Schildknecht (Vinous): "Sea breeze and subtle smokiness share aromatic billing with fresh lime and apple. The feel is alluringly silken, but the midpalate is loaded with tingling animation of lime zest, tart apple skin, and crystalline stony impingements, all of which persist on a buoyant, vibrant and mouthwateringly saline finish. Drink: 2020-2032. (Jun 2020)"

18.5/20 points JancisRobinson.com: "I came across the Rausch for the first time 47 years ago, probably something from the late 60s, and was traumatised by the acidity. Sometimes it’s worth persevering, and Zilliken’s Rausch 2018 still has acidity, but animating instead of throat-cutting, and a lot of additional features to recommend it. There’s the delightful fragrance which combines floral and fruity aromas to perfection. There’s juicy yellow and stone fruit, fine spice and slaty minerality, all offered on a seductive silky texture. There’s class. (MS) Drink: 2020-2028. (8/26/19)"
