94 points Wine Spectator: "This is starting to hit its stride, with a strapping feel to its mix of fig, blackberry and boysenberry compote flavors pushed from behind by brambly grip, a tarry edge and extra waves of licorice snap, Christmas pudding and dark earth. The chewy finish has muscle and drive. Still needs a little time.—Blind 2000 Vintage Port retrospective (March 2021). Best from 2025 through 2040. (7/22/21)"

91-93 points Roy Hersh (For The Love of Port): "Quinta da Cavadinha may win the prize for having the lowest yields of any property in the Douro during 2000's harvest. Cavadinha is the backbone of the Warre Vintage Ports and at one time sold grapes for blending into Fonseca VPs. I am a fan of the Warre style for early consumption although their 1977 is a beauty today at 25 years old. The grapes for the 2000 were picked rather late and were very concentrated. Dark purple in color with full opacity. Aromas of violets and ripe sweet cherries, full-bodied, with juicy black cherry and ripe raspberry fruit. Elegant and balanced, deceptively soft fruit with mostly chewy tannins that come alive on Ware’s long and luxurious finish."

92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2000 Vintage Port is more complex than the Late Bottle Vintage and gives up terrific notes of ripe plums, black olives, tobacco leaf, and Asian spices. This gives way to a medium to full-bodied, textured, balanced Port that has terrific fruit as well as length. It’s drinking great today, holds up nicely with extended air, and should shine for another decade or more. Drink: 2018-2028. (3/20/18)"

91 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Full medium ruby. Complex, perfumed nose combines crystallized blackberry and cassis, licorice, violet, spice cake, bitter chocolate and mint. Thick, dense and powerful, with slightly grapey, medicinal flavors of black fruits, violet, licorice, dark chocolate and spices. This shows terrific intensity, purity of flavor and length on the palate, with solid but fine tannins. Ultimately quite seamless and silky, even though still young. (Jan/Feb 2003)"

91 points Robert Parker: "Straightforward yet intense, ripe black raspberry liqueur and cassis scents are followed by a medium to full-bodied, elegant, restrained, balanced port with moderately high tannin as well as outstanding purity. It is a vintage port with impeccable finesse. (10/29/02)"

91 points Falstaff Guide: "Strong ruby garnet, good color core, delicately socketed edges. Restrained, ripe plum fruit, delicately caramelized, a hint of brandy, somewhat rustic bouquet. Medium complexity, orange touch, some nougat, dried plums on the finish, developed, lacks a little punch and length. (2/12/16)"
