96 points Decanter: "95% Chardonnay, 4% Pinot Gris, 1% Pinot Blanc. A multi-layered complexity of fine blood orange, lemon grapefruit and haunting smoky perfumed notes blended with cedar toasted oak and an underlying mineral chalk finesse. Outstanding with incredible class and elegance. (2019)"

92-95 points Fine Wine Review: "This monopole wine is steely, intense, light, pure, penetrating, and energetic with great acidity. The wine is very individual in style and worth the effort to experience. Harvested 19, 22, 23 September. Frost damage was not bad here, and so production was about 90% of normal. Harvested at12% natural alcohol. (Dec 2017)"

94 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "This monopole vineyard of 2.28ha is picked in three tranches over the space of a week to enhance its complexity. Among the Côte de Nuits' best whites, it's pithy, nuanced and well-structured, with very subtle oak handling, flavours of citrus and gunflint and a long, mouthwatering finish. Drinking Window: 2020-2025. (Oct 2018)" .

92-94 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Not frosted. A really classy nose, super balance, a bit of fruit, a bit of tension, some limestone notes, a huge weight of fruit on the palate, ripe fruit because all first generation, some mirabelle for good reasons. Impressively long."

93 points Wine Spectator: "[$186 list] Smoke and toast aromas mingle with flavors of lemon, apple, vanilla and mineral in this sleek white. Balanced, offering a lingering mineral element on the long finish. Gains harmony with air, so decant now or cellar short term. Best from 2020 through 2026. 100 cases imported. (6/30/19)"

93 points Wine & Spirits: "A delicious rarity, this wine grows across a small road to the north of Clos de Vougeot, where the resident monks planted the site to white grapes. The Boisset family, which now owns the parcel and farms it under biodynamics, dates that original planting to 1110. The soil is different here than at the family’s neighboring pinot noir parcel in Clos de Vougeot, the topsoil lighter in color, over pink conglomerate rock from the Oligocene era (see W&S, October 2012 for a story on Côtes de Nuits whites by Jasper Morris, MW). This 2016—mostly chardonnay, with some pinot gris and blanc—has the ripeness and depth of a wine from a great site, concentrated in its savory tension, lasting on floral complexity that hints at botrytis. The stony, mineral character holds for minutes on the breath, tight and pretty awesome. (Apr 2019)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "Lovely volume of fine aroma here. An extra depth to the texture, the wine is complex, with modest though enough freshness. Really a super complexity here. Very yum! (12/20/17)"
