94-98 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Fine brisk purple colour. A heady sensual nose, more fruit than whole bunch. Perhaps the most sensual perfume of them all. The fruit skips daintily across the palate, bolstered by excellent structure as much from the stems as anything, then a welcome point of acidity at the back. Brilliantly persistent. Really expressive and will not need to be kept for too long before it can be broached. (Nov 2019)"

93-96 points/'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from vines near the Morey border, 50% of which were planted in 1902; 100% whole clusters). A much more subtle though not invisible touch of oak surrounds the even more floral-inflected aromas of blue berry liqueur, anise, tea and newly turned earth. There is outstanding volume and mid-palate concentration thanks to the abundant dry extract that imparts a seductive quality to the mid-palate that contrasts considerably with the very, very structured and hugely long and powerful finish. This is an absolute knockout and would be a candidate for the Bonnes Mares of the vintage. Drink: 2038+. (Jan 2020)"

93-95+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "One of the highlights of the range is the 2018 Bonnes Mares Grand Cru, a striking wine that offers up aromas of wild berries, rose petals, grilled squab and burning embers. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, with refined tannins but serious depth and structure. This is a muscular wine from Domaine de la Vougeraie, and it will prove long lived. (Feb 2020)"
