93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Damodes is showing very well, unfurling in the glass with notes of dark berries, cassis, rose petals, spices and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, lively and succulent, with fine depth at the core and a long, perfumed finish, it's a cuvée Verdet has produced sine 2006. Drink: 2024-2044. (Jul 2021)"

93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Medium deep bright fresh purple. A touch of whole bunch on the very lively nose, with depth of dark fruit behind. Energy with blueberries and raspberries but far from overdone. Tannins and acidity in balance. Sweetly ripe finish. Tasted: March 2021."

91-93 points and 'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "This too is attractively cool, elegant and pure with its aromatic profile of violet, lilac, rose petal and dark currant that is trimmed in subtle wood and earth whiffs. There is fine detail to the vibrant and tautly muscular flavors that possess a caressing mouthfeel while delivering finale length on the balanced and youthfully austere finale. This is a lovely combination of finesse and punch. Drink: 2031+. (Jan 2021)"

Les Damodes is beautifully positioned neighboring the Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru of Malconsorts. Depending on your exposure to Nuits-St-Georges in cooler vintages and certain sites the appellation can come across very austere, grippy and often over tannic. However, the northern part of the appellation and its close proximity to Vosne-Romanée can produce fleshier, riper and dynamic expression of Pinot on a par with some of Vosne’s top sites. Les Damodes from Verdet offers tremendous value for the price and remains a real under-the-radar recommendation because of its proximity to some of the Côte d’Or’s greatest sites at a tenth of the price. Only four barrels produced. Next lowest pricing elsewhere in the US is $172 on the 2017.
