93 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "A fresh, bright wine, with aromas of cherry and pomegranate, plenty of freshness and a firm tannic line. This wine is blended from three parcels: Grasses Têtes at the top of the slope in Marsannay, Le Grand Poirier south of the village of Couchey, and Varangée on the border with Fixin. The vines are trained high on stakes and yield this wonderful value wine from one of the region's most talented winemakers. Drinking Window: 2022-2035. (May 2022)"

90 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The Domaine Trapet Marsannay is always so good that I asked Jean-Louis on this trip if the family ever held back any bottles in the cellar to see how the wine evolved with age. He laughed and said 'no, it is something we really should have done, but you cannot keep everything!' I asked because I have the sense that this bottling really ages gracefully and would have been curious to see what a ten or fifteen year-old vintage of this wine drank like. In any case, the 2020 Marsannay chez Trapet is excellent, offering up a complex nose of black cherries, sweet dark berries, grilled meats, a fine base of soil, coffee bean, just a wisp of mustard seed and a bit of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and again, beautifully sappy at the core, with bright acids, lovely focus and grip, fine-grained tannins and a long, complex finish. This will be a great bargain in the 2020 vintage. 2026-2045. (Nov/Dec 2021)"
