95-97 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru offers very pure red berries, undergrowth and rose petal scents on the nose, fresh and ethereal in style. This is very...persuasive. The palate is beautifully-defined, the 80% whole bunch impacting freshness and salinity, filigree tannins with an abundance of tension on the finish. Class from start to finish. Drink: 2026-2055. (May 2022)"

96+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2020 Chapelle-Chambertin from the Trapet family is a stunning young wine. The nose wafts from the glass in a still quite primary blend of black cherries, plums, sweet dark berries, cigar wrapper, a gorgeously complex base of soil tones, pigeon, a touch of mustard seed and a deft foundation of cedary oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and potentially quite velvety, with a rock solid core of pure fruit, great mineral drive and grip, ripe, buried tannins and a long, perfectly poised finish that closes today with a nice touch of sweet stem tones from the whole clusters. 2035-2100. (Nov/Dec 2021)"

96 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "Jean-Louis Trapet has referred to this parcel as the 'Musigny of Gevrey' and it is easy to see why, with its lush mulberry and cassis fruit, scented with violets, rose petals, liquorice, ginger and smoke. The texture is silky and lush - not a hard edge anywhere - yet there is impressive density and silky tannin as well. A wonderful wine. This 0.6ha Trapet parcel of Chappelle is located in the section known as Grande Chapelle (En la Chapelle). The oldest vines here were planted in 1945 and have long been worked biodynamically. Drinking Window: 2025-2070. (May 2022)"

96 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Long and refined, the Chapelle-Chambertin sees its juicy and subtle flesh with notes of blood orange extend into a salivating, catchy and brilliant finish. (2023)"

92-96 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "The first sample showed a very heavy reduction, the second was a little more accessible: very dark and deep in colour, only a minor reduction, and this time much more depth of fruit. Inky depths, not quite the majesty of the Latricières but it does build well to the back. Some blackcurrant notes and a long finish. Perhaps a bit monolithic despite 90% whole bunch vinification. (Nov 2021)"

93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from two parcels of vines in Chapelle proper measuring .55 ha, one planted in '65 and the other in '38). A ripe yet quite restrained nose grudgingly offers up its aromas of various dark berries, violet, lavender and exotic tea. There is excellent volume to the seductive and gorgeously textured medium weight plus flavors that exhibit plenty of punch on the austere, serious and built-to-age finish. This understated effort is lovely, but patience will definitely be required. Drink: 2035+. (Jan 2022)"
