95 points Eric Guido (Vinous): "A beguiling display of spiced blood orange, balsam herbs, sour cherries, ashen stone and cedar keeps you coming back to the 2019 Etna Rosso Guardiola over and over again. It’s silky and polished in feel, with salty minerals up front that give way to tart red currants offset by a subtle tinge of grapefruit. This leaves a saturating coating of primary concentration through the structured finale, where fine-grained tannins hold the expression firm. The 2019 Guardiola will need time to show its best, yet it has all of the components to mature into a wonderful expression of old-vine Nerello Mascalese from the higher elevations of Month Etna. Drink: 2024-2034. (Jun 2021)"

95 points James Suckling: "The first impression on the nose is of a dead ringer for a top Gevrey-Chambertin, even one of the Grand-Cru communes! However, alongside the ripe red fruit and earthy character, there’s a firm structure that combines warm and cool elements in the unique way that only Etna reds can achieve. Impressive depth and energy at the very finish. From organically grown grapes. Built for long aging. Drinkable now, but best from 2024. (8/22/21)"

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Red berry, new leather, camphor and Mediterranean scrub aromas take shape in the glass. Elegantly structured and enveloping, the savory, rather austere palate delivers Marasca cherry, tangy blood orange and licorice alongside flinty mineral notes. Taut, fine-grained tannins provide the framework. Drink 2024–2034. Alcohol 14%. (Dec 2021)"

94 points Wojciech Bonkowski, MW (TimAtkin.com): "Originating from some of Etna’s poorest, stoniest soil, this displays wonderful finesse and precision, betraying the higher elevation, too: the lip-smacking acidity tastes almost of cranberry. Yet as everything at Terre Nere, this avoids extremes of richness or austerity and chooses a crowd-pleasing middle ground, without sacrificing a strong sense of place. Wonderfully polished tannins. (2023)"
