Not yet reviewed: 2021 importer notes: Stein's "1900" is considered his top wine, coming from a tiny parcel of ungrafted Riesling vines planted in the year 1900. That's 120-year-old vines, coming from a steep slate hill in the middle of the village of Alf. Normally fermented as a Feinherb (off-dry), this wine from a colder vintage is still in any way a powerhouse, capable of decades of aging. The old and the new Mosel all in one. The 2021 vintage is the first not labeled as a Spätlese Feinherb but as a Kabinett Trocken, Ulli Stein's idea of best mastering this classic vintage.
