97 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "I was blown away by the NV Brut Rosé, not so much for its quality and personality, both of which I expected, but by its freshness, considering it was disgorged a few years ago. Bright citrus, floral and cranberry race across the palate in an airy, weightless Rosé that delivers all the goods, and then some. It’s a gorgeous wine to enjoy with canapés to kick off this remarkable dinner. The blend is almost all Chardonnay, with just a few drops of still Pinot that is purchased from Francis Egly. Disgorged: April 16, 2018. Drink: 2022-2027. (Jun 2023)"
97 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "The NV Champagne Brut Rosé is 92% Chardonnay from the chalky middle portion of the slopes within Avize, Cramant and Oger, with the still wine of Pinot Noir coming from Ambonnay. Pouring a golden orange hue, it’s elegant and medium-bodied, opening to refined aromas of fresh peach, orange blossom, orgeat, and saline. Crisp, linear, and vibrant on the palate, it takes on its chalky straightness with a silky texture of wet stone and has significantly more tension, as well as a long-lasting, salty finish. This is one of my personal favorite Rosé Champagnes. 2.7 grams per liter of dosage. Drink: 2024-2039. (11/17/23)"
96 points Kristaps Karklins (Wine Advocate): "The latest release of Selosse’s NV Brut Rosé, based on the 2018 vintage and disgorged in February 2024 with 2.5 grams per liter dosage, derives mostly from Avize and Cramant. Similarly to Initial, the sources for the Rosé are primarily the lower-altitude slopes. At its core, it is Chardonnay, complemented by about 3% Pinot Noir, sourced from the Egly family (aged in Selosse’s barrel), a historical exchange between the two growers. Guillaume told me that for the Rosé, they select barrels with more pronounced spicy character. Flamboyant and ample, the wine offers a deep bouquet of orange zest, cardamon, dried fruit and walnut. Laden with mouthwatering acidity and chalky structuring extract, it is one of the most characterful, complex rosés to be found in France. Drink: 2024-2034. (Dec 2024)"
96 points La Revue du Vin de France: "The rosé (disgorged in September 2019) needs gentle aeration to reveal its spongy vinosity. The attack conveys the patina of the Chardonnay, the fleshy flavors of the Pinot Noir arriving generously on the finish. A big rosé for the table and for ageing. (2021)"
96 points Sarah Mayo (The Wine Independent): "The Selosse Rosé NV is a blend from three villages, Avize, Cramant and Oger, over three vintages, 2014, 2015 and 2016, and is effectively the Selosse V.O. (Version Originale) cuvée with an additional 10% of Ambonnay still red wine. A faintly red-tinged shade of marigold, it uncoils with honeyed aromas of lemon confit, toffee and butterscotch, a little toast and delicate hints of chalk. Medium-bodied with a lithe and refined undercurrent of fruit concentration, the palate lights up with a soft mousse of oxidized freshness and pulsating acidity that is energetic yet easygoing. Elegant and delicately powerful, it finishes incredibly long and fresh. It was finished with a 1.33 grams per liter dosage. Alcohol 12.5%. Drink: 2023-2038. (12/7/23)"
95 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "We begin with a bottle of NV Rosé from Jacques Selosse, a 2010 disgorgement. There are scurrilous rumors that I dislike Selosse. There are not many things in life I dislike, maybe only war, racism, bananas and everything ever recorded by Irish boy band Westlife, but it’s just that some bottles are excessively oxidative and have no qualms telling you so. That said, this bottle’s oxidative element was perfectly pitched and complements rather than defines the champagne. There’s wondrous precision on the nose, with rose petals, a punnet of slightly overripe strawberries, rooibos, and background scents of Essex cockle sheds. The palate has exquisite balance, what feels like a once concentrated Rosé Champagne that spent the last decade cohering and gaining precision. It gains depth with aeration - just magnificent. Drink: 2024-2034. (Jun 2024)"
