92 points James Suckling: "Fresh, minty black and blue berries with dark chocolate and roasted sweet spices. This is a flavorful, full-bodied red with a twist of bitterness to the dark-berry fruit. Tight, chewy and a little woody now, but will come around in two years. Drink after 2024. (8/8/22)"
Producer notes: "Forty years have passed since the purchase of the Campogiovanni wine estate in Montalcino, and now San Felice has extended its interest to another world-class winegrowing area: Bolgheri. Consistent with its philosophy of making wine exclusively from estate-grown grapes, San Felice located 6 hectares of vineyards near Le Sondraie area. The vines, averaging 5 years old and planted in the silt-sand soils classic to the zone, amount to 2 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon and 4 hectares of Merlot."
92 points Susan Hulme MW (The Wine Independent): "This 2019 San Felice Bolgheri Superiore Bell'Aja has a heavily oaked spice nose obscuring its identity, although it is an attractive mix of baking spice, cream and cedar. It has lively acidity although the tannins are a little brash. It's a well made, robust wine, a little chunky and forceful in style but very enjoyable and hearty. Drink 2023-2030 (Nov 2022)."
