95-98 points Fine Wine Review: "This is one of the most consistent estates in Burgundy, but even so, I came away from this visit thinking that 2007 had been unusually successful here. At the end of the visit, I wrote for my overall view: 'Great vintage Fantastic Purity of Terroir. Finesse Energy Wines will age well.'... The Gevrey-Clos Saint-Jacques is pure and nervy with red fruit that is deep and edgy, and there are truffly overtones, too. The wine has digested the wood well and it is a great expression of Clos Saint-Jacques. (Issue #123; 2009)"

95 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Paler mid red colour, a light but flavoursome floral nose, only on the cusp of ripeness. Really pretty though. Lovely perfumed fruit across the palate, gracious, not blockbuster, medium length plus, actually stretches out very nicely. (Jun 2017)"

93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The gorgeous 2007 Clos St. Jacques is going to be a very difficult wine not to drink in the first blush of youth, but it will clearly add another layer of flavor and aromatic complexity if allowed some time in the cellar. The stellar bouquet is a blend of red and black cherries, grilled meat, mustard seed, espresso, complex soil tones and a bit of spicy new oak. On the palate the wine is fullish, deep and very pure, with a sappy core, fine-grained tannins, outstanding focus and balance and a very, very long, tangy finish. Great juice. 2014-2040. (Jan/Feb 2009)"

93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Good deep red. Captivating, vibrant aromas of raspberry, flowers, minerals and spicy oak; seems much more primary than the foregoing samples and it's hard to believe that this is just the new oak talking. Pretty, precise and energetic, yet at the same time displaying the creaminess of the vintage. Very pure raspberry, spice and mineral flavors linger impressively on the juicy, very long aftertaste. (Mar/Apr 2010)"

93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 2.2 ha parcel raised in 80% new wood). A touch of wood spice frames an ultra elegant, cool and mineral suffused red currant, cherry and raspberry nose that complements to perfection the detailed, supple, round and wonderfully classy medium weight flavors that possess positively gorgeous complexity on the sappy, mouth coating and explosively long finish. A wine of harmony and style with outstanding depth and the particularity of the '07 Clos St. Jacques is its unmatched delicacy. Drink: 2017+. (Jan 2010)"

93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Drunk from double-magnum, Rousseau's 2007 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jacques is showing very well, bursting from the glass with an expressive bouquet of raspberries, red plums, raw cocoa, peonies, sweet soil tones and spicy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, supple and charming, it's an open-knit, expressive wine, its ample core of fruit framed by succulent acids and melting tannins. It's drinking very well already. Drink: 2017-2030. (7/16/20)"

93 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "Smooth, with concentration that makes this almost chewy framing the cherry, licorice and sandalwood notes. There's also a latent mineral tone. Though well-proportioned and harmonious, this needs a year or so to really sing. Best from 2012 through 2028. 50 cases imported. (4/30/10)"
