92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Signor Berrasoni did a very nice job of bottling his demi-johns of Francesco Rinaldi’s 1971 Barolo, and the wine is drinking beautifully at age forty-one. The bouquet is deep, complex and very refined, wafting from the glass in a blend of dark berries, charred wood, venison, autumn leaves, lovely soil tones and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and à point, with a fine core, lovely, resolved complexity, melting tannins and outstanding length and grip on the focused and classy finish. A lovely bottle at its peak, but still with plenty of life in it. 2012-2030. (Nov/Dec 2013)"

90 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Dark red. The 1971 Barolo takes things to another level with complex sensations of cherries in liqueur, wet earth, roasted coffee beans, menthol and super-ripe fruit with excellent persistence on the palate and big, powerful personality that captures the essence of the vintage. Though fully evolved and mature there is no escaping the house's austere and unyielding style in this Barolo. Drink: 2006+. (May 2006)"
