95 points Tim Atkin, MW: "The Raveneaus have ten different parcels of Montée de Tonnerre, aged between 20 and 60 years’ old. In 2015, because of the hail, this included what was left of Chapelot, which is normally bottled separately. Lime, citrus and green tea flavours are complemented by stony minerality. An impressive wine with understated power. 2018-24. (2017)"

94 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2015 Chablis 1er Cru Montee de Tonnerre has a tightly wound bouquet with a slight fumé note at first, then a trace of sea cave and a tang of the sea. The palate is very well balanced with a fine line of acidity. This has wonderful harmony, a dash of nutmeg and spice that emerges toward the finish and a very persistent aftertaste that will not go away (not that you want it to). This is an outstanding Montée de Tonnerre destined to give a lot of Chablis-lovers a lot of pleasure. Drink: 2021-2045. (Aug 2017)"

94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "It is really a shame that so much of the family’s Montée de Tonnerre was wiped out by the hail of early September, as the wine has turned out truly beautifully in this vintage. The bouquet is a touch more reserved out of the blocks than the previous premier crus, offering up scents of pear, lemon, flinty minerality, spring flowers and incipient notes of beeswax. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and displays excellent nervosité, with a rock solid core, fine focus and grip and a very long, zesty and complex finish. There is nothing laid back and easy-going about this excellent vintage of Montée de Tonnerre. 2017-2040. (Nov/Dec 2016)"

92 points Stephen Brook (Decanter): "Robust nose, with some oak influence. Good attack, though still reticent, the palate is very concentrated with fine acidity and crystalline, pure character. Good length. Drinking Window: 2017-2026. (Jan 2017)"

92 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from several parcels totaling 2.5 ha with two-thirds of it in Chapelot and the remainder in Pied d'Aloup). Here too there is ample mineral reduction character present on the elegant, pure and airy aromas of pear, apple and white flowers that are trimmed in just enough wood to merit mentioning. There is excellent punch and intensity to the more precise middle weight flavors that coat the palate with dry extract while exhibiting a gorgeously persistent finish. This doesn't appear to have suffered much if at all from the hail damage. Drink: 2023+. (Oct 2017)"

92 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Very pale yellow with a faint green tinge. Extremely unevolved scents of minerals, mint and dusty stone, plus a whiff of pineapple in the background. A dense, sappy premier cru with noteworthy solidity and surprising acidity, but not particularly complex, at least in the early going. Has a sweetness to it, as well as strong underlying minerality, but will need time to express itself and expand in the bottle. My sample seemed to go back into a shell in the glass. Isabelle Raveneau noted that these vines were picked just a few days after a destructive hailstorm (and 100 millimeters of rain) on the night of August 31 but she added that her family had been planning to harvest the Montée de Tonnerre just a few days later than that--in contrast to some growers who were forced to bring in hail-affected grapes a solid week earlier than they had previously anticipated. This wine, made from a low yield of 35 hectoliters per hectare, may yet improve with aging but is tricky to assess today. (13.06% alcohol; 3.26 pH; 3.56 g/l total acidity) Drink: 2019-2032. (Aug 2019)"
