94 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$45 list] This medium-bodied, vibrant and tangy wine makes a big impact on the nose with toasted oak and caramel and on the palate with lemons, pineapples and Pippin apples. Vivid flavors and bracing acidity are well matched here. Best from 2026. (Jul 2023)"

93 points Wine Spectator: "[$45 list] Impressive for its intensity and purity, with juicy Honeycrisp apple, pear, peach and nectarine flavors that sing out on a fresh frame. Reveals details of lemon blossoms, dried ginger and a touch of salted melon on the long, expressive finish. Drink now through 2033. (3/1/23)"

93 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "A rounder wine, the 2020 Chardonnay Russian River Valley is ripe with melon, peach, orange peel, and a hint of spices. Medium to full-bodied, it has good tension and concentration, with ripe melon fruit and a note of almond. (7/21/23)"

93 points CellarTracker.com community score.

92 points Erin Brooks (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Chardonnay Russian River Valley is scented of yellow apples, crème fraîche, beeswax and autumn leaves. The medium-bodied palate is plush and satiny with generous, crunchy fruit, gently tangy acidity and a long, savory finish. Drink 2023-2028 (Jun 2023)."

Producer notes: "[$45 list] These are cool sites, with low vigor soil such as Goldridge Loam, planted between 1978 and 2013. The 2020 vintage is comprised of 45% Westside Farms, 20% Kilcullen, 10% Dutton Sebastopol, 10% Frank Johnson, 9% Rochioli Allen, and 6% Bucher. We press whole clusters for phenolic delicacy. Native-yeast and full native malolactic fermentation take place in barrel, with sur lies bâtonnage. After aging 12 months in 10% new French oak barrels (Taransaud Beaune, François Frères), the Chardonnay was traditionally fined for clarity during the following harvest and bottled without filtration in January 2022."
