97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "More tropical and citrus notes emerge from the 2017 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard, which has a beautiful chalky minerality as well as medium to full-bodied richness, bright, racy acidity, a crisp texture, and a great finish. With remarkable purity of fruit as well as a chiseled mouthfeel, it's another magical Chardonnay from this estate that will stand up to any Grand Cru White Burgundy out there. It has plenty to love today yet will be best with 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for over a decade. Drink: 2022-2032. (5/21/20)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2017 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard is bold and racy. Orange peel, mint, tropical fruit and spice all flesh out effortlessly. The 2017 shows all of the creaminess and density that is such a signature of Hyde Chardonnays. Although the 2017 is quite expressive today, my sense is that it will be even better with more time in bottle. Drink: 2020-2027. (Apr 2020)"

94 points International Wine Report: "The 2017 Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay is another beautiful wine from David Ramey in this vintage. This spent 20 months in 20% new French oak and lightly fined and bottled without filteration. The result is a gorgeous Chardonnay that begins with aromas of orchard fruits, lemon oil and hints of pineapple along with jasmine and a lovely underlying mineral character all taking shape in the glass. On the palate this is beautifully balanced with a lovely combination of delicious fruit, acidity and minerality that persists all they way through the wine. This is drinking exceptionally well today, however it should also go on to offer years of drinking pleasure ahead. Drink: 2020-2029. (May 2020)"

93+ points Erin Brooks (Wine Advocate): "The 2017 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard is still youthfully shy. Aromas of saline, raw almonds, jasmine and white peach lead to a medium-bodied but still mineral-driven palate, with hints of savory nuance to come, finishing long. Give it another few years in bottle. 585 cases produced. Drink: 2021-2028. (Jul 2020)"

Producer notes: "We’ve produced a Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay since 1996 – our first Ramey wine. On the gently rolling slopes of Los Carneros, Hyde Vineyard benefits from marine air flowing through the Petaluma Gap, maintaining a temperature cooler than in the rest of Napa Valley. 585 cases produced. Alcohol 14.5%."
