92-94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Deeply colored, the 2018 Château Puy-Blanquet checks in as 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon from a 20-hectare parcel of clay and limestone soils. Beautifully ripe and sexy, with a massive bouquet of blackcurrants, macerated black cherries, and smoked earth, it's full-bodied, opulent, and layered on the palate, with serious fruit. This brilliant wine will be approachable in its youth yet also evolve gracefully for 15 years or more. It should also be an incredible value. (5/1/19)"

92-94 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "The vineyard is 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a fresh character on the nose, with dusty black cherry, smoke and black plum stone. A pretty start to the palate, with a supple, medium-bodied substance, carrying a fruit profile of dark cherry skin, along with a little sweet praline. This is supported by a fresh acidity and a nice grip of tightly knit tannins. A quite correct character, certainly showing some nice limestone energy, with a flourish of grip, tannin and acidity in the finish. Nicely done, and a strong showing for this estate. (Apr 2019)"

92-93 points James Suckling: "A red with lots of richness and density and flavor. Full body, plenty of round tannins and a long and flavorful finish. (4/11/19)"

90-93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2018 Puy-Blanquet is a rich, creamy and sensual wine with tremendous near and medium term appeal. In 2018, Puy-Blanquet is especially lush, almost shockingly so, for a Saint-Émilion that is usually quite classic in feel. Inky red and purplish berry fruit, spice, rose petal and mint build as this silky, pliant Saint-Émilion shows off its racy, inviting personality. Don't miss it. (Apr 2019)"

92 points Peter Moser (Falstaff): "Deep dark ruby, opaque core, purple glints, faintly lighter at the rim. Luscious plums, underlaid with with fresh sweetheart cherries, as well as subtle smoky savoury herbal nuances. Juicy, elegant, fine nuances of nougat and sweetheart cherries, ripe tannins, mineral, lemony touch on the finish. A very well-suited food wine. (5/23/19)"
