The refined bouquet wafts from the glass in a complex blend of apple, tart pear, wild yeasts, a lovely base of slate, spring flowers and just a whispery of savory tones in the upper register. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied, vibrant and zesty, with beautiful filigree and mineral undertow, excellent acids and grip and a long, seamlessly balanced and perfectly focused, complex finish. Round and mouth-filling on the palate, this is a hedonistic Kabinett with very fine, mineral acidity. Just a dessert on its own. 8% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 26 21 in July 2022. Drink: 2022-2050. (Aug 2022)"

The slate Riesling aromas and flavors are intense and balanced with crispness from the acidity but silkiness, too, from the tender nature of the acidity that is typical in 2020. Great purity, crystallinity, and penetration here. Light sweetness in the mouth, but almost dry on the finish. It’s a beautiful entry to the estate’s 2020s, for drinking now but it will still improve and keep over the next 10-15+ years (the wine improved over several days after opening). Cork closure. 8.0% stated alcohol. Last digits of A.P. Nr.: 10 21. (8/5/22)"
