96 points Kerin O'Keefe: "Rose, menthol, forest floor and leather aromas come to the forefront along with the barest whiff of asphalt. Full-bodied and structured, the palate delivers raspberry, blood orange, licorice and a minty note alongside firm, fine-grained tannins. Drink: 2029–2044. Abv: 14.5%. (Jan 2024)"

95+ points Ian D'Agata (Terroir Sense): "Good full, bright red. Exotic nuances to the aromas of blue flowers, sweet spices, blood orange and red cherry. Firm and taut but with good glyceral sweetness to its captivating floral and spicy red fruit flavours. Finishes with terrific floral lift and length. This is actually quite ready to drink now, though spending another eight years or so in the cellar won’t hurt it any. Drinking window: 2029-2042. (4/5/24)"

94+ points Ian D'Agata: "Vivid red. Perfumed aromas of red cherry, sweet spices and herbs on the inviting nose. Mineral, very floral and quite refined, this is only moderate concentrated but boasts impeccable acid/sugar/tannin balance, with nicely integrated acidity that really extends the fairly fresh and grapey flavours in the long aftertaste. I like this type of earlier-developing, easier to understand Barbaresco for drinking soon. Drinking window: 2027-2038. (Oct 2024)"

94 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "A youthful ripe red color, the bright and lifted 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Muncagota is fantastic on the nose, with notes of bright pomegranate and orange zest. It also has fantastic energy and vibrancy on the palate, with a vertical and nervous feel, balanced ripeness, finely coiled tannins, and a long finish. Drink 2024-2036. (5/13/24)"

94 points James Suckling: "Aromas of raspberries and forest berries with hints of graphite, tea leaves and cocoa. Medium-bodied with a polished and silky mid-palate, ending with a firm and chewy aftertaste. It’s fresh and vibrant overall. Try after three to four years. (5/17/24)"

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$85 list] The nose opens with aromas of dried cranberries and red currant all mixed in a bowl with anise, clove and freshly cut herbs. Firm and structured with a lifted freshness that cuts across the palate. The palate transcribes the aromas perfectly with the addition of a touch of crushed stone that adds another layer to this wine that needs a spell in the cellar. Drink 2027 onward. Alcohol 14.5%. (Sep 2024)"

93+ points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Muncagota is shaping up to be gorgeous. The 2019 is marked by a very evident brightness that is not always present. Medium in body and gracious, with terrific balance, the Muncagota is very impressive in this early tasting of the 2019 Riservas. It could turn out to be one of the surprises in this range. Keep an eye on this. Drink: 2026-2039. (Oct 2023)"
