90-94 points Fine Wine Review: "Harvesting of the Côte de Nuits vineyards here began about 15-16 September. Malolactic fermentations finished between April and June. Yields were at the limits for each appellation, which Prieur has seen in other abundant vintages. The clusters are entirely destemmed. There was no acidification here... The Gevrey 1er Cru is from young vines in Chambertin. It was harvested on 18 September at 13.4º natural. The wine shows spicy red fruit in the nose and mouth with medium weight, firmness to texture, and good energy. The young vines did not suffer in 2009. (Issue #130; 2011)"

90-92 points/'Sweet spot,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from Chambertin vines less than 20 years of age). Strong reduction compromises the nose at present but there is an admirable sophistication to the velvety and refined mouth feel that is dominated by an almost aggressive minerality on the cool and moderately austere but persistent finish. Worth a look. Drink: 2021+. (Jun 2013)"
