97-99 points Fine Wine Review: "The Bonnes-Mares notwithstanding, it was the Clos de la Roche that stole the show — I found it to be one of the favored appellations in 2015, and this wine, in particular one of the unforgettable wines of the vintage. The wine is extremely stony, pure, and deep with cassis fruit, wildness, nakedness — exactly what Clos de la Roche should be. It is medium-weight and complete. (12/29/16)"

93-95 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "(two of the four barrels were new; the production here was just 25 hectoliters per hectare, according to Landanger): Bright ruby. Sexy perfume of black raspberry, minerals, brown spices, licorice pastille and underbrush. Plush, sweet and smooth, offering superb concentration, energy and balance. Utterly seamless wine with terrific inner-mouth floral lift. The wine's strong fruit blows past the firm, late-arriving tannins on the juicy, gripping, very long finish. (Jan 2017)"

93-95 points/'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .32 ha parcel). Reduction. Here there is a similar mouth feel to the Bonnes Mares with a bit more muscle in evidence on the overtly powerful yet velvety and imposingly-scaled flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the slightly firmer and just as impressively persistent finale. This youthfully austere and ultra-serious effort is one of those "buy and forget you own it" wines as it's going to be very long-lived. Drink: 2033+. (Apr 2017)"
