This single vintage, single cask, high proof rum is a revelation. Hailing from the far flung idyllic Fiji Islands, the molasses based column and pot still combination, and very long nearly 9 year tropical aging are finished with another profound and novel island influence, casks from the excellent Islay Scotch distillery Kilchoman that previously held some of their peated malt whisky. The effect isn't overwhelming at all but nonetheless mind-blowing. Limited.
