94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Lots of cassis, graphite, chalky minerality, and sappy herb notes emerge from the 2019 Château Pibran, a rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated Pauillac. I love its purity of fruit, the balance is spot on, and the tannins, while present, are perfectly ripe and polished. It's not a blockbuster and shows the more elegant style of the vintage, but it's a gorgeous, classy Pauillac that will benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and have 25+ of prime drinking. Drink: 2026-2054. (4/11/22)"

94 points La Revue du Vin de France: "The 2019 is one of the most accomplished Pibrans ever. It boasts a beautiful, noble texture, with its usual silkiness and charm, all supported by a solid structure and high-class tannins. (2023)"

91-93 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "The blend here never wanders too far from 50/50, and indeed this year we have 53% Merlot and 47% Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit was picked between September 18th and October 11th. A great colour and concentration in the glass for this property, surely the appellation’s leading non-classified estate. Dark and smoky on the nose, rich in concentrated scents of grilled cocoa bean, toasted cherry fruit and a fresh, earthy mineral note. The palate is minerally and firm, textured and brimming with ripe tannic grip. Medium-bodied, full of energy, carrying some herby and earthy fruit, this has an impressive substance, a feeling reinforced by the huge tannic grip at the end. It has some length too. (Jun 2020)"

92 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2019 Pibran is such an attractive wine. Just as it did en primeur, Pibran offers up a beguiling mix of bright red fruit intermingled with expressive floral accents. I especially admire the energy here. The 2019 will provide plenty of pleasure over the coming decades, give or take. It's an absolute delight. Drink: 2026-2039. (Jan 2022)"

92 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent): "Composed of 53% Merlot and 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2019 Pibran is deep garnet-purple colored. It springs forth with lively blackcurrants, fresh blackberries, and warm plums scents with hints of Bing cherries, pencil lead, and charcoal. Medium-bodied, the palate is refreshing and soft with plenty of vibrant red and black berry flavors and a spritely finish. Drink: 2024-2040. (5/9/22)"

92 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "The red fruits come with a savory, earthy, spicy edge which is quite nice. The red currant core of fruit here is ripe, a bit rustic and loaded with nuances of olives, tobacco leaf, cocoa, cigar box and currants. In other words, classic Pauillac. This is one of the best vintages of Pibran ever produced. And if you are seeking a classic Pauillac that won't break the bank, look no further. Drink from 2025-2045. (Mar 2022)"

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a ripe wine, structured with tannins, but emphasizing the wine's fruit. With a high proportion of Merlot the wine has a fine jammy quality that gives weight and richness. Drink from 2025. (Oct 2022)"
