Wall Street Journal: "Good. Classic anise-forward absinthe. Flavorful without being strident. (5/9/09)"
The original absinthe returns to its roots. Though technically thujone-free -- with less than 10 parts per million of thujone, the chemical in grand wormwood that led to the banning of absinthe in the early 20th century -- this is considered the "real deal." In addition to wormwood, absinthe usually contains fennel and anise, along with other herbal ingredients. Serve in the time honored manner, "touched" with water poured over a sugar cube, placed on a slotted spoon. Wall Street Journal: "Good. Classic anise-forward absinthe.
