96 points Joe Czerwinski (Wine Advocate): "The 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Laurence is 80% Grenache, 6% Syrah, 4% Mourvèdre and the balance a mix of other authorized varieties. After approximately four years in foudre, it shows intense scents of leather, cherries, apricots and cocoa. It's full-bodied and supple, approachable now but capable of aging for up to two decades. It's a terrific example of this cuvée and how Grenache can benefit from extended élevage. Drink: 2018-2035. (Aug 2018)"

96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "I loved the 2012 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Laurence, a serious wine from this solid, always charming vintage. Saddle leather, currants, garrigue, pepper, and ample spice notes flow to a full-bodied, opulent, concentrated wine that has terrific mid-palate depth. While it's relatively soft and forward on the attack, it has density as well as tannin. It's going to drink nicely for two decades. Drink: Now-2032. (8/28/18)"

96 points Wine Spectator: "[$145 list] A throwback style and proud of it, with warm chestnut and bay leaf notes taking the lead, followed quickly by worn leather and smoldering tobacco accents. The core of dark currant, warmed cherry and mulled blackberry lies in reserve for now, while the finish lets singed iron and brick dust details hold sway. Just wait for everything to pull together in the cellar. Best from 2020 through 2032. 1,250 cases made. (3/31/17)"

96 points International Wine Report: "The 2012 'Cuvée Laurence' is a fabulous showing from Domaine du Pégaü in this vintage. It is composed predominately of Grenache, along with Syrah, Mourvèdre and 10% other varieties from the region. This instantly begins to impress as it releases its seductive aromas of dark plums and cherries, which are laced with leather, smoke, pepper, Indian spices and smoked meats. This beautifully structured red possesses a full body, which is wrapped in gorgeous velvety tannins and displays remarkable overall balance and finesse. This continues to impress all the way through the finish, as flavors of dark plums, cherries and spices remain persistent. While this is already extremely appealing, readers will be rewarded by allowing this to evolve over the next decade. Cuvée Laurence is consistently one of the most compelling wines to come from the region, and it certainly lives up to that reputation in this vintage. Best 2020-2038. (Feb 2017)"
