93 points and 'Sweet spot,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .60 ha parcel where two-thirds of the vines are more than 70+ years of age). There is just enough reduction present to suggest that this would benefit from decanting if you're tempted to try a bottle in its youth. Otherwise there is a really lovely sense of underlying tension present on the concentrated and tautly muscular flavors that even so possess a relatively refined mouth feel before concluding in an almost aggressively mineral-inflected, balanced and hugely long finish. This superb effort is flat out terrific and highly recommended, indeed this is as good a Pavelot Gravains as I can remember in many a year. Drink: 2024+. (Apr 2016)"
93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2014 Pavelot Gravains is also superb, offering up a deep, nascently complex and very vibrant nose of black raspberries, black cherries, French roast, dark soil tones, woodsmoke and just a hint of the autumnal elements that will come with extended bottle age. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with an excellent core of fruit, lovely transparency, fine-grained tannins and outstanding focus on the long, refined and classic finish. All this beauty needs is some time in bottle to blossom. 2022-2055. (Nov/Dec 2015)"
