93 points James Suckling: "Youthful yet intensely herbal this is a tightly-wound mid-weight grüner veltliner with a ton of mineral character carrying the long, elegant and crisp finish. Enough energy to carry it through for some years. Drink now. Made from biodynamically-grown grapes. Screw cap." (10/1/17)

90 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "[$30 list] Ott's 2016 Grüner Veltliner Fass 4 displays a deep, clear and pretty intense white fruit aroma intertwined with a noble spicy-mineral, quite stony flavor. Medium to full-bodied, intensely fruity but also mineral and provided with crystalline acidity, this is a remarkably delicate and filigreed Grüner Veltliner. Ending with a clear, piquant and salty finish, it is a first-class wine to pair with many dishes, mainly veggies, fish and white meat. Tasted at Schloss Gobelsburg in July 2017. Drink 2017-2024." (Aug 2017)

+ Terry Theise: "...This is considered by Ott to be his first 'serious' GV for the table, and it is masterly in 2016. It smells great from both glasses but tastes better from the Zalto (credit where it’s due), more animated and winsome, sorrely and intricate; no great shakes in terms of sheer impact but the loveliest possible flavor and delicacy."
