94+ points Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate): "[$60 list] The nose of the 2015 Ganko is always spectacular. The soils are very shallow red, rich in iron and are layered with sandstone and gypsum; Olivier Rivière considers these to be the best soils he has. There are notes of beef blood and iron, with seriousness and austerity, and at the same time, a wild side to it. The palate follows a similar path of seriousness and minerality, with a stony, dry sensation in the palate, a texture, not a flavor, and a dry, tasty and long finish. This is simply phenomenal. It's a blend of 50% Mazuelo and 50% Garnacha. Starting with 2016, this wine will be aged exclusively in foudres. 4,000 bottles were filled in May 2017. Drink: 2018-2025. (Feb 2018)"
93 points Tim Atkin, MW: "Made entirely with old-vine fruit from Cardenas in the southern part of the Rioja Alta, this is a cuvée of mostly Garnacha with some Mazuelo and Tempranillo, entirely fermented with whole bunches. It’s a bold, liquorice and incense-scented red with dark, chewy flavours of plum, damson and blackberry and sinewy tannins. 2020-25. (Feb 2018)"
93 points and 'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "Here's another raring red from Bordeaux-born Rivière that needs time to settle. Ripe aromas are all about fruit, while this wine is clamping on the palate, with a sense of skins one hopes will resolve with time. Peppery plum and wild berry flavors finish with cheek-grabbing tannins and lasting toastiness. Drink 2019-2035. Alcohol 13.5%. (Nov 2017)"
